‘More than just a vet’, a podcast about the lives of veterinary professionals.
Hi! My name is Francisco Gómez and I created More than just a vet podcast. In each episode intro, I remind the listener that ‘ I want to know what’s behind the surgical mask of the people who help our animals’. In other words, I’m exploring their humanity. As explained by a blog post in ‘The Veterinary Edge’ magazine, More than just a vet seeks to show everyone, not just vets, what the lives, struggles and passions of veterinary professionals are. For animal lovers, I hope this tool will help them acknowledge that our faults and mistakes are human. For veterinary professionals, I hope it will make them feel that they are not alone.
TV programs always present veterinary professionals as pet-loving people whose only worries lie in the practice, but vets are human too and make mistakes sometimes. Not only at work, but in life. I thought, if animal lovers saw our humanity, they would understand us better. And if they can understand us better, our animals would reap the benefit
